Chanel Les Ombres Multi-Effect Eyeshadow Quad in 278 Codes Subtils

Before I start talking about this eyeshadow quad, I would like to tell you my thoughts and conclusion, Chanel Les Ombres Multi-Effect Eyeshadow Quad in 278 Codes Subtils is one of my favorite eyeshadow quads, whether it’s the formula or the shades, I love everything about it.

I haven’t loved eyeshadow since I started researching it last year and then what caught my eye the most in magazines and social media was the shiny or sometimes wet look on my eyes. It’s something I want to use on my lids and I’m sure it looks both natural and beautiful on my lids. That’s when I bought this Chanel Les Ombres Multi-Purpose Eyeshadow Quad in 278 Codes Subtils. All the shades in this quad look very neutral yet buildable and suit most skin tones and eye colors.

From Chanel’s website, “A quartet of eyeshadow palettes featuring state-of-the-art innovations to enhance creativity. Their optimized formulas combine softness and ease of application for maximum color: consistent, luminous, even throughout the day. Shades are available in a variety of effects: matte, satin, iridescent or metallic.
Practical and portable black lacquer case with large mirror. The result: four eyeshadows that are constantly blended to create natural, intense, sophisticated or smoky eyes. “

I would also like to add to the description of the formula on Chanel’s official website, “A formula that enhances color and make-up.”

Superior concentration of long-lasting pure pigments for a wider range of effects and intensity
A manufacturing process that allows for easy application and immediate, intense coverage
Gel system and blend of polymers and spherical powders for: soft, creamy, smooth texture, perfectly blended shades, even finish”

This eyeshadow quad is packaged in the same classic black color as the rest of the Chanel products, with the four shades in a beautiful circular container inside the box. Starting from the top left corner, the shades are Medium Dark Peach, Medium Golden Brown, Medium Brown, and Dark Brown with a slight forest green tint. All colors can be applied individually to the eyelid or together for a beautiful eye look. All shades are beautiful and very easy to smudge. Their formulas have a soft, finely milled texture that makes them very easy to apply.

When applied with a light hand, they give the eyes a very nice glowing opaque effect, which is what I was looking for. For a more intense look, they are very easy to layer, smudge and stay on for over 8 hours. Just to let you know, I have oily lids and these lasted over 6 hours on my eyes without an eyeshadow base. I don’t have a specific way of applying these shades, but it depends on my mood and level of creativity on the day.

This is a really great quad, all the shades are beautifully done and all of them work well together. My only disappointment with this palette is that it has limited additions. It’s versatile enough to suit most skin tones and eye colors and should be a permanent addition to the Chanel makeup collection.

This four-color eyeshadow retails for $68 CAD (excluding tax).
