Miss Dior Eau de Parfum

What does love smell like and how does a perfume smell like love is a very difficult yet simple question. The smell of love can mean different things to different people, depending on how they perceive love and who they associate it with when they think of it. So making a perfume that smells like love can be a challenge, right? Dior perfumer Francois Demachy explains, “The fragrance had to be exciting, stirring, a little wild but approachable.” The iconic Miss Dior debuted in 1947, and without obliterating its beloved signature, it gives it a fresh, modern vibe by softening the concentration of jasmine and patchouli and emphasizing the sensual, suggestive rose in the middle notes. Dark, earthy notes are eliminated in favor of lively, exuberant pink pepper and bergamot. De Marchi says, “It had to explode like love at first sight, a celebration of love!” It sounds a lot like love and the beauty of love. Miss Dior Eau de Parfum (165 CAD – 100 ml) was sent to me as part of a press kit.

The top note of this fragrance is Calabrian Bergamot Extract. The middle or middle note is Rose de Grasse Pure Oil / Damask Rose. The base notes are French Guiana Rosewood and Pink Pepper. I would love to mention these beautiful lines from Dior’s “Love as a Legacy” questionnaire, which is so perfect and explains the fragrance in a beautiful way.

“I have a small waist because I am often hugged.

My lips are pink because they are often kissed.

My skin is bare and admirable.

In short, I was born to love.

Know this: my youth lasts forever; I will never grow old!”

Love is a legacy, love is eternal, and when a perfume smells like love, it must be something youthful, confident, beautiful, lively and seductive. The packaging of this perfume is a beautiful glass bottle with a very pretty little bow on the cap. I wear it almost every day. I love how fresh and modern it is. It’s not overwhelming, sensual but lively. The staying power is very good and I don’t need to reapply it for 6-7 hours on my skin, which is great. Natalie Portman posed the question in the campaign for the fragrance: “And you. What would you do for love?” If you haven’t already, I suggest you check it out.

Miss Dior Eau de Parfum is available at Dior counters nationwide, as well as at retailers’ respective .com sites.
